Proud Moment

Jackson was asked to give the scripture in primary on Sunday. We worked with him all week to help him memorize it. I wasn't sure if he would get up in front of the entire primary and give it, he tends to be a little shy, but he stood up there and said it all by himself. I sat in the back with the biggest smile and tears in my eyes--I was so proud! It was a moment I will never forget. He was so excited to get a sticker and he hopped back to his seat and told his little friend Jacob, who was saying the Article of Faith, that it was his turn.

Although these little Sunbeams didn't grasp the importance of these brief moments (they were just elated to have stickers)--all the moms and dads in the back of that room absolutely sensed the greatness of these little children and the small, but significant steps that they were taking on a worthwhile journey that will hopefully lead them back to their heavenly home. I sure love the primary program and the opportunities it gives these little children, especially my little (big!) Jackson, to grow their love for the gospel.

Breakdancing

A couple of months ago we went to Disneyland one night. We took the kids to the dance floor in tomorrow land, so that they could run around. Jackson decided that he was going to try breakdancing. I am not sure where he learned how, but he was good at it. Here are some pictures of them...

Gone Camping...

We went to Doheny Beach for the weekend. It was the most beautiful weather and we had a spot right on the beach. I think this has been one of our best camping trips yet. It helps that Reagan is a little older and slept through the night--both nights! What an amazing weekend!

The Bike Ride Bribe

While Camping at Doheny, we thought we would try to teach Jackson how to ride his bike (which is already to small for him). We have been trying for awhile, but he is just never interested--he would rather be playing the computer. But since we were camping, and had no computers, we thought he might want to try. We were wrong. We had to bribe him by saying that the only way he could go play with his little friend (Cameron Lackey) was to ride his bike over to their campsite, because it was far away.

I didn't realize just how far it really was. Although it was only a two minute walk, it turned out to be about a 20 minute bike ride for the poor little guy. Although not the most successful teaching moment as far as bike riding goes, we did get a chance to teach the concept of "enduring to the end"...

He sure looks handsome in his spiderman helmet, though.

It took us about ten minutes to coax him into starting...he was super busy making faces in the reflection of the truck...

Although not so quick on the bike (he never actually moved forward because the brakes kept tripping him up), he finally made it to his little friend's camp, just in time to say goodbye as Cameron left with his dad. Oh well!! I was the lucky one who got to carry the bike back to camp...

Conference in Vegas

We spent conference weekend with my brother and his wife--at their condo in Vegas. We had a wonderful time visiting and Jackson and Reagan loved being with their Aunt and Uncle.

I hope you two still want to have kids, after spending the weekend with ours--they sure didn't let you two sit down for one minute!

Thank you Buck and Elise for a wonderful weekend! We sure love you guys and can't wait to see you again...

Stay tuned for a video of Buck singing to Jackson at BJ's pizza (I am sure this will be a Burnett Family Classic--for years to come). Just kidding Buck!! It might find its way into the Sibling Connection email, though. Much love...

Chubby Babies

I love Chubby babies! Two of the women in my ward just had babies today--one was 8lbs 14oz and the other was 9lbs 7oz!. It made me think back to when my babies were babies. Although they didn't start out that big--Jackson was 8lbs 12oz and Reagan was only 7lbs 14oz, they quickly grew to be very chubby. Jackson took the cake at 33lbs at 8 months. Here are a couple of pictures of their cute rolls...

Otter Pops

What signals (to me) that summer is just around the corner? Otter pops...
Reagan's first attempt
Jackson is a pro...(almost).

Our Vegas Family

My brother, Buck (Austin) and his sweet wife Elise came to visit over the weekend. We all got together for dinner on Monday night.

All of us (except Matt) hanging out in the back of Matt's truck (not sure why, but it was fun).

Elise and Buck with Reagan. We will see you two in Vegas this weekend. We love you!!

Reagan, Grandma and Grandpa

Matt took some great pictures of Reagan, in her new dress, with her grandma and grandpa.

Taylor Turns 2

My little niece, Taylor, turned two and we went to her birthday party. Isn't she adorable? I think Reagan looks a lot like her.

Happy Birthday Tay!

New House

This is the Super Great Room (picture taken from the kitchen), it is over 1,000 sq. feet.
Here is the kitchen. Ours will not have a fish statue (see kitchen island).
Here is the laundry room (my personal favorite since this is where I will spend a large amount of my time).
This is the master bath.

Tri City Park

These are some of my favorite pictures that we took when we went to Tri City park the other day. It was one of the first Saturdays we had free in a long time, and this is one of my favorite parks. I grew up just down the street and use to come here all the time. Jackson and Reagan love the ducks and we even saw an attention-starved turtle that kept hopping out of the lake to say Hi.
